Nunawading Basketball News

NUNAWADING BASKETBALL | The good news continues for Daniel Kickert (EBees / Waverley Basketball Club), named to the NBL All-Australian team to contest a three game series against the Chinese National Team in China next month.

Kickert’s selection to the NBL All-Australian team comes quickly after being named to the 20-man Australian Boomers squad, which will begin preparations for the reformatted World Cup qualification process, which will see Basketball Australia now contest the FIBA Asia Cup.  This is the second consecutive selection to the NBL All-Australian team for Kickert, who was part of the league inaugural tour last year which thrust Australia’s domestic competition into an extraordinarily large Chinese market.

NBL Chief Executive Jeremy Loeliger said it was another exciting opportunity for the NBL and Australian basketball.

“Last year’s series was a great success and we were warmly welcomed by the Chinese people who are passionate about basketball,” he said.

The series will feature games in Beijing (July 5), Jilin (July 7) and Dongguan (July 9) with all games broadcast live back into Australia via Fox Sports.
