NUNAWADING BASKETBALL | The 2018 Under 16 Australian Junior Championships are in full swing on the Sunshine Coast, with a number of Nunawading Basketball representatives powering their Vic metro sides to undefeated records at the end of the Pool Rounds.


On the women’s side of competition, Vic Metro are a perfect 6-0. Luisa Fakalata (Eastern Bulls) has been starting at guard for Vic Metro, averaging 11.17 points, 4.67 rebounds and 2.17 assists across the six games. She’ll square off in a Quarter Final match up against NSW Country at 4:00pm today.


In the men’s championships, both Jack Dammers (Vermont Vultures) and James Roche (Donvale Dunkers/Wattle Park Saints) have both helped guide Vic Metro to a 5-0 win-loss record. Dammers is averaging 9.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, whilst Roche is tipping in 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest.  Vic Metro will take on Tasmania in the men’s Quarter Final at 2:00pm this afternoon.
