The Nunawading Spectres Senior Program Committee would like to extend an invitation to all interested and eligible athletes to register for the upcoming Big V and U21 VJBL Tryouts.
Note that these tryouts are a separate selection process to the Junior Spectres Program. U18 athletes are eligible to participate in the Nunawading Spectres Senior Program, with more information available via the Elite Potential Player Guideline below.
The Nunawading Spectres boast one of the most successful senior programs in Australia, fielding men’s and women’s teams in NBL1, Big V (Victorian Youth Championship – U23) and VJBL (U21) competitions.
Planning for the 2020 seasons are well underway, with a complete tryout process for the Big V and U21 VJBL teams scheduled to take place per the below dates;

Note that the Nunawading Spectres do not conduct formal tryouts for their NBL1 teams, positions in these teams are promoted from within or recruited externally.
BIG V INFORMATION
The Nunawading Spectres compete in the Victorian Youth Championship division of the Big V. To be eligible for selection, players must be 23 years of age or younger in the year of competition.
To clarify, for a player to be eligible their year of birth must be equal to or later than 23 subtracted from the competition year. For example, for the 2020 season, eligible players must have been born on January 1 (2020-23=1997) or later.
U21 VJBL INFORMATION
The Nunawading Spectres Senior Program oversees the administration and delivery of its U21 VJBL teams.
To be eligible for U21 VJBL competition, athletes must be born in 2000, 2001 or 2002.
