MELBOURNE – Tessa Boyd will return for the Nunawading Spectres, announcing that the guard will extend her tenure with the program to a fourteenth year.

Boyd played her junior representative career with the Spectres prior moving into the programs senior ranks where she has been a staple for their women’s team.

“I can’t wait to see what this group can do after a year off the court,” Boyd said

“Having last season cancelled has made us all want to push that extra mile in pursuit of a championship.”

“Our preseason work has been exciting with a good mix of fresh and familiar faces and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

Boyd joins both Rachel Brewster and Louise Brown as the Spectres confirmed signings ahead of the NBL1 2021 season, in a sign to the Nunawading faithful that the program will continue to build on its record of finals appearances.

“Tessa is an integral piece of our program, so we’re thrilled to have her back on court and in good form heading into this NBL1 season,” Nunawading Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn said.

“She has done a phenomenal job of staying ready despite the significant time away from basketball and has returned ready to play an important role in our rotation this season.”

“Tess has the ability to space the floor, her perimeter game continues to improve and we saw firsthand last season just how potent of a scorer she can be when we need it.”

The Spectres have commenced official preseason training ahead of the NBL1 2021 season, with a full schedule expected to be announced shortly. On the back of a year away from courts, there’s been no better time to sign up for a Nunawading Spectres NBL1 Membership – details available soon!
