MELBOURNE – The Nunawading Spectres have re-signed Rachel Brewster for the upcoming NBL1 South 2023 season.
Currently playing with the Melbourne Boomers, Brewster will return to Nunawading at the conclusion of the WNBL season. The sharp-shooting combo looking to help guide the Spectres into post-season action once again.
“This is a core signing for us,” Nunawading Basketball Operations Manager and Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn said.
“Brew is very much a part of who we are as a team, and sets the standard in terms of how we prepare on a daily basis. She has banked significant experience at WNBL level with the Melbourne Boomers and we look forward to drawing on this as we continue to elevate our program here at Nunawading.”
Brewster has called Nunawading home since arriving 8-years ago, immediately stepping in the then SEABL side before embarking on a 4-year stint at Utah State University. Since returning to Melbourne, Brewster has been a feature on both the Nunawading Spectres and Melbourne Boomers rosters. She joins Rachel Antoniadou, Cassidy Mihalko, Izzy Feller, Emma Pearce, Tayha Watkins and Taylah Schmidtke as confirmed signings for Nunawading.
The Spectres open their NBL1 South 2023 campaign at The Graveyard on Sunday 2 April, a double-header against the Mount Gambier Pioneers.
