멜버른 – The Nunawading Spectres have signed Australian representative Alice Kunek for the Coles Express NBl1 South season.

Kunek joins the Spectres from Arka Gdynia (Poland) where she helped lead her team to the bronze medal in the Polish Energa Basket Women’s League Championship.

One of Australia’s trailblazers on the 3×3 scene, Kunek will have a handful of international commitments throughout the NBL1 season which includes both Asia Cup and Commonwealth Games events.

“I’m really excited about joining the team for the NBl1 South season,” Kunek said having touched down in Melbourne recently.

“I played for Nunawading many moons ago and loved my time there. It has always been such a strong family club with great culture. The girls are a great group and I am excited to be coached by Paul (Flynn).”

Kunek previously suited for the Spectres back in the 2012 South East Australian Basketball League season, leading the team with 19.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. She has since carved out an incredible international career with stops in France, Australia and Poland.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Alice into our group,” Spectres Head Coach Paul Flynn said.

“She is an incredible and highly respected talent that will value add to our program both on and off the floor. I have coached against her in a number of settings and she is a tough match up to prepare for, I’m glad that can be someone else’s problem this season.”

Kunek will commence training with her Spectres teammates this week in anticipation of her suiting up in Round 3 of the Coles Express NBL1 South season.
