VALE GRAHAM LONGSTAFF

Nunawading Basketball and its wider community is saddened by the recent passing of Nunawading Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Graham Longstaff.

Graham represented the Vermont Vultures in Melbourne East Basketball Association (MEBA) competition, whilst also playing for the Melbourne Tigers in the then VBA competition. He represented Victoria on multiple occasions at Australian Championships and was a member of the National Men’s Team in 1979, whilst also logging 100 games for the North Melbourne Giants in the National Basketball League.

Graham moved into coaching, holding various roles at both junior and senior level – leading the Knox Raiders to 3 SEABL Conference Championships and the 2009 League Championship, being named Basketball Victoria’s Coach of the Year in 2009 also.

Graham played an integral role in the basketball lives and development of a number of our past and present Nunawading Basketball representatives. He will be remembered fondly, and our thoughts go out to his family and close friends at this time.
